SEMA Jeeps Hit the Road in L.A.

Jeep Wrangler Sand Trooper

When you’re passionate about what you do, you don’t want to ever stop. That was true for Mopar, Chrysler’s specialty parts brand, which recently extended SEMA season by taking its modified rides from the annual aftermarket parts show on a road trip through L.A. While we wouldn’t trade living in New Hampshire for the concrete jungle of Los Angeles, we must admit we’re a little jealous of the opportunity to drive these fantastic vehicles.

Each year, Mopar puts on quite a show at SEMA, and 2012 was certainly no exception. Popular Jeep, Chrysler and Dodge models were upgraded with new wheels, paint colors, trim details and more, then put on display so owners can get a sense of how they can customize their own vehicles with Mopar parts. This year, the Jeep Wrangler Sand Trooper caught our eye with its matte-black wheels and prototype 42-inch Super Swamper Bogger tires, integrated rearview camera and CB radio for off-roading. We’re sure it looks just as good covered in mud as it does on the show floor.

While the Sand Trooper may have been our favorite Wrangler concept shown at SEMA, there were plenty of other options to choose from. In fact, the Jeep Wrangler won the “Hottest 4×4-SUV” award at SEMA. This SEMA award goes to the model that is on display in the most booths at the trade show, and the Wrangler won for the second year in a row.
