If you’re a serious off-roader, the latest special editions coming from Jeep should have you grinning from ear to ear. The 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk and 2013 Jeep Wrangler Moab Special Edition are set to debut in October, sporting some serious trail-loving equipment. In fact, the vehicles will have off-road equipment that has never before been offered on a production Jeep vehicle.
The Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk starts with 18-inch Goodyear Silent Armor all-terrain tires with Kevlar reinforcement to help prevent punctures on the road and steel rock rail body protection. Drivers can choose either a V6 or a V8 engine depending on their need for speed.
The Quadra-Lift air suspension gives the Trailhawk nearly 11 inches of ground clearance, while the Selec-Terrain traction-control system offers five settings to provide the surest footing possible, whether you’re taking on snow, rocks, sand, mud or all of the above. And the Rear Electronic Limited-Slip Differential, available with the V8, can transfer up to 100 percent of the engine’s torque to one rear wheel, keeping the Trailhawk moving no matter what you come up against.
The Kevlar-reinforced Goodyear tires can also be found on the Jeep Wrangler Moab in 17-inch versions, and winch-ready steel bumpers and rock rails provide protection while out on the trails. Jeep fans will be able to choose from exterior colors like Crush, Dozer, Rock Lobster, Gecko, Black or Bright White on either the two-door or four-door version. Inside, you’ll find Moab slush mats and leather seating.
